My friend Stacey is a member of the High Museum of Art. She had two free adult passes to go and invited us to join her and her son Ian. They have this thing called Toddler Thursdays where they have a theme and have different activities to go along with the theme. Well, it was Pirate's Day the day we went. They got to make a pirate hat and hear a story about pirates. It was very cute. Jake was a little shy at first and didn't want to make his hat, but eventually got into it. They also have an activity room for the kids to play in and do different things. They had a blast in there.

Here we grow again!

It was pretty busy last week. On Monday we had Jake's 3 year checkup. He weighed 33 pounds and was a little over 38" tall. She said he looked great! I was amazed at how grown up he was talking to the doctor and answering her questions. I know we talk to him all day everyday, but it was different when he talks to someone he doesn't usually talk to daily. She would ask him if he eats vegetables and what kinds. Jake told her peas and carrots. She also asked him if he liked fruit and what kind he eats. He told her he likes watermelon and cantaloupe. Potty training is going great!! (so far) We only had two accidents last week and none this weekend. So, I took the kids by myself to the doctor for Jake's appt. and after that experience I asked Lee to go for Ben's on Wednesday. Jake is great, but Ben is a handful! Come Wednesday, Lee said he needed to study for his test more so my mom offered to watch Jake while I took Ben to the doctor. I felt so sorry for the poor 8 month pregnant nurse that had to weigh Ben. He moved all around screaming and crying and did not want to be weighed! I told her I hope she didn't go into labor. Anyway, Ben weighed a whopping 21 pounds and was about 31" tall. She said he looked great too! He did fine while the doctor examined him. I was so lucky with Jake because he never really got into anything, but Ben is into everything!! We have to watch him like a hawk.

Finally!!

Well, I know our friends and family up north are going to laugh while seeing how excited we are here in the south about the snow we got today. YOu may get to see it a little too much, but I just love seeing some snow at least once a year. I did wear my Red Sox hat for you Northerners. Those weather men have teased us all winter long, but yes, today we finally got some snow today. It was coming down really hard for hours today. There were huge flakes and we even went out to play in it for a bit. Sorry Ben, you were napping, but you did get to look out the door at the snow falling when you woke up. Yeah, yeah, yeah!! What a great snow day!

THis was at the beginning of the snow fall so there wasn't that much sticking yet.

Jake's 3rd Birthday Party!!

Last Saturday, we celebrated Jake's 3rd birthday with a Diego party. He just loves Diego. We had a few close friends and some family over for pizza, cake and ice cream, and even a pinata. Yes, a pinata! I know they may be a little young for that, but it made for some great entertainment for us adults. I can't believe our sweet, little boy is now 3 years old!

They always look great and taste delicious.

Singing Happy Birthday and blowing out the candles. I love this picture because you can see my friend Jennifer kissing her sweet little girl Paige in the background.

We are so happy she moved back to Atlanta so Jake and he can become friends too.

Jack is thinking Hmmmmm, how can I take this home?

Gina sure looks like she has a bun in the oven, huh?

Ben says this party sure was fun!

This is the giant Diego balloon I got for Jake's party. One day after the party, I was holding it down for Ben and comparing their sizes, well when I let it go, it came off the string and is now on our ceiling. By the way, it was the same height as Ben.

Happy 3rd Birthday Jake!

Yesterday was not only Presidents' Day, but Jake's 3rd birthday! I can't believe my little boy is 3 years old. TIme flies by so very fast! He was born on a Thursday at 3:50 pm and weighed 6 pounds 11 ounces. He has brought us so much joy and made ours lives so fun. Jake loves Diego so this weekend when Nana comes into town we are having some friends over for a Diego birthday party. Since yesterday was his actual birthday we decided to have a mini celebration. My mom couldn't stand being cooped up in the house and wanted to see Jake for his birthday so her and Papa came down and ate dinner with us. After dinner we had a small ice cream cake for Jake. He really enjoyed it and even understands he is now 3!

Valentine Fun and my mom!

As some of you may know, my mom fell on her knee a couple of months ago and it continued to hurt and swell even after being drained three times. So finally, they decided to send her to an Infectious Disease doctor where he has been treating her for an infection using IV antibiotics. THis past Wednesday she went in for her IV infusion and they decided to send her to the hospital to do exploratory surgery on her knee to make sure there was no other damage. It has been very frustrating since they can't seem to find out what kind of infection it is or even how she got it. She came home yesterday and will continue to get the IV antibiotics at home and physical therapy. Please continue to pray that she will recover soon and be able to get around on her leg. On a lighter note, Gina, Emma, and Jake came over on Friday and we had lunch and then made Valentine cupcakes. Hope everyone has a Happy Valentines Day today!!

with a little extra mix, we made a cake and I decorated it later!
